Competitor monitoring for private equity portfolio companies
A portfolio company usually learns what its competitors did when a customer mentions it. AnalystAI watches each competitor from public sources and sends your deal team a short report on what changed, with the source page for every item.
What it tracks
For each portfolio company, you name the competitors that matter, or we propose a list for you to confirm. For each competitor we follow:
Websites
New pages, changes to products and pricing, new locations or facilities, and messaging that moved since the last report.
Hiring
Open roles and where they cluster. A competitor hiring more in sales, in engineering or in a new region shows where it is putting money.
Marketing
Campaigns, channels, partners and the claims a competitor leads with, so you can see how its strategy shifts.
News and announcements
Press, funding and acquisition news, and public filings where they exist.
What you receive
One short report per portfolio company on the schedule you choose. It says what changed, why it may matter to that company, and links to the page it came from. Reports arrive in the format your team already uses, for example a few slides or a one-page note, and a running log shows how each competitor moved over time.
How it works
- 1
You pick the portfolio companies and their competitors
Start with one company, or the whole portfolio. We confirm the competitor list with you before anything runs.
- 2
AnalystAI watches the public sources
Websites, careers pages, press and public filings are checked on a schedule and compared with the last time.
- 3
A person reviews the findings
Nothing goes out unreviewed. A person removes noise, checks the source and writes why each change matters.
- 4
Your team gets the report
The report goes to the deal team or the operating partner, with a link to the source behind every item.
Controls
- Public information only. We do not read private communications or log in as anyone.
- Every item keeps the source page it came from, so your team can check it.
- A person reviews each report before it is released.
- Your documents and your list of portfolio companies stay in your own cloud.
Questions
Which sources does it use?
Public ones: competitor websites, careers pages, press releases and news, and public filings where they exist. Each item in a report links to the page it came from.
How often will we hear from it?
On the schedule you choose for each portfolio company, for example weekly or monthly. A report that has nothing important to say is short.
Can it cover the whole portfolio?
Yes. You can start with one portfolio company to see the format, then add the rest.
Does a person check the output?
Yes. A person reviews every report before it reaches you. The software collects and compares; a person decides what is worth your time.
How do we start?
Send a short workflow review request with the portfolio company and its main competitors. We reply with what the first report would cover.
